New Heavy Reviews pt.2 7/12/26
enough - Live, Laugh, Love There is not much of an intro to this track and that is okay , it did not really need one. the band just wanted to get their sound directly into your ear as quickly as possible on this one. this track has more of a tame, radio rock vibe to it but it also manages to show alot of artistic quality and expression. The song writing, lyrics are super solid. I could see this being a successful release without a doubt. The vocalist has a great voice for a r

Haast Hunter - Plastique We have something really special here hailing from New Zealand. This main riff is super thick, full, and bouncy. This track in general carries alot of emotional weight to it. There is a really awesome blend of different vocal styles. I also think the effect used on the male vocals sound really great, it really adds to the heaviness of the voice. The video is very well made and beautifully shot. It matches the tune very well. The entire production of t

1. Tell me about the latest album release "KILLKARMA" what did it mean to you and what did it signify for the band Killkarma was a turning point for the band. It was really our 'introduction' album to showcase what our brand is about. We are proud of what we wronte 2. I see the band is having some lineup changes with two new vocalists. What does this mean going forward and what can we expect in the future from the band? New vocalists, new chapter. We have a unique dynamic

Spleen - Say Goodbye Now this is a fun one. Six piece Nu-Metal group from Italy. I always love to see new and upcoming Nu-Metal groups and these guys really nailed it. Right away we get some hip hop groove and turn table sounds. The first image we see of the band you can tell these riffs are going to smack. These whispering vocals before the boom is a classic Nu-Metal element that was implemented well here. We get those super dissonant riffs mixed with heavy bass and it fulfi

Michi Gray Eyes - Her Dark Side US based female singer Michi Gray Eyes delivers a fantastic performance here. Her voice manages to sound fragile at some points and also full of passion and force. She cant really belt out a scream when she wants to portray her anger! The video is dynamic , beautiful and scary! some moments of this video feel like a horror film. The instrumental is very well made for her vocal style. Soft when it needs to be , heavy when it needs to be. I think

Kutie - Bloodmoon starting off the reviews for today we have an upcoming band of youngsters who are blending rock, punk and metal. Building up some momentum in California. I have to say I was pretty impressed with this track and video. The video is very simply shot but works good with this raw track. Intense riffs packed full of dissonance , absolutely screeching vocals. The band is female fronted and she definitely delivered with power. The drumming is also notable, I think

NOEMA - Threshold We have some prog rock from Vienna here. This intro is super trippy. Dark , gloomy, aliens from outer space vibes. This track screams prog when the instruments kick in. It has a strangely upbeat tone and beat to it. The lyrics definitely fit into that outer space theme. There is almost some math rock sequences happening instrumentally. The tempo shifts keep this song really interesting. Vocally it manages to keep this upbeat , fun quality to it. I absolutely

FALSE MESSIAH - Last Sanctuary The drums are piercing and sound great right from the start. These guitar tones are very gloomy , the track has an apocalyptic feel to it. The visualizer seems to build on this concept. The vocals come in strong , emotional and fit right in with the gloomy guitar feel. Production wise this track is pretty solid. Every element of the track is clear but it is not overly produced. Maintaining its heavier edge. This track is a good blend of hard roc

AENYR - Beyond the Shell starting off this weeks reviews we have an Italian band that blends super heavy crushing djent riffs with elements of progressive metal and metalcore. The production on this track is absolutely crazy , the drums are being beaten hard and sound super good. These riffs are super thick, full and combine so well with the tone of these drums. We get some really nice cymbal work in here too. Vocally this track is very impressive as well. Absolutely great bl

Tocsine - Save Me Starting off the reviews with a French composer who blends elements of metal, garage rock, and dark atmospheres. This track definitely lets those elements shine. Its already un-nerving from the start. These vocals sound tormented. Instrumentally we get some chunky bass and riffs. Just really straight forward heavy noise on this track. We get snippets of our composer playing each instrument which is neat. The music video is kind of strange but in a way that s

Astorg - Gazing at the Hypnotic Water Gleams The acoustic chords starting the track sound very beautiful and we get some strings in the background that aren't overpowering but add great depth to the track. The track really flows beautifully as we start to hear more structure coming into place. This is a track that tells a story completely through instrumentation. We get bits and pieces of electric guitar gleaming through the mix that was a really nice touch. https://www.youtu

Neverskin - Piece Of Mind Nice little melodic echoing riff to start the track quickly followed by a thick heavy riff that drives the track forward. The track takes a slower approach after this initial riff, the guitars get super fuzzy and low. Catchy soft clean vocals make this song really enjoyable. The lyrics are relatable and well delivered. Simple but enjoyable visuals with this lyric video. The track is very well produced, I think this had radio potential! its more in th

Kerr Lordygan - True Grime Investigation You can tell straight away that instrumentally the song is going to be heavy from these intro riffs. The use of guitar tone to portray emotions here is very well done. I think the cleaner vocals definitely could have been mixed better and had some more effects layered into them but the harsher vocals sound pretty good. The effects used on the guitar are heavy , thick and have a really great headbanging quality. True Grime Investigation

Dissociate - Tom Loves Capital This track wastes no time blowing out your eardrums, in a way you enjoy. Its a short track but doesn't disappoint with bringing the heaviness and super thick , distorted guitars. This is a great mixture of thrash and punk attitude and execution. I think its a great song to throw in in-between in your heavy playlists. https://m.soundcloud.com/user-903957763-311865502/tom-loves-capital?in=user-903957763-311865502%2Fsets%2Fdeath-of-capital Raging L

Nonvector - Ashen Time this track starts of with a droning sound of a synthesizer like we are floating in space and something big is going to happen. We are immediately then thrown into a punch in the face with this progressive style of metal with very nicely discernable bass. Thick , powerful riffs and the vocalist comes into this with a nice harmony and storytelling quality to the voice. There is some interesting and noticeable changes in vocal approach and voice registers,

Revenge of Insanity - Darkness Creeps All Over This track jumps right into insanely heavy crushing riffs and a ton of dissonant chords and it sounds absolutely brutal. There is an unexpected switch up here with some atmospheric sound effects that sound very space like and the vocalist comes in with an approach I was not thinking would be the case. He comes in with a spoken word , story telling style and then hits you hard with blood curdling scream to jump you back into the d

DEFICIENCY - The Nest No wasted time here. The band wants you to know they mean business. We get thrown face first into an absolute thrash onslaught with some beautiful very thrash like progressions. Everyone in the band here is doing a good job to bring a really melodic, heavy, thrash track to life. there is some progressive elements sprinkled in here as well. around 2:18 we get a pretty groovy little section here with some colorful switch ups. 2:51 we get immersed into a se

Mars God - Daywalker This track starts with an interesting little sample and some distorted dissonance. I had a good feeling it was going to be heavy before the instruments even dropped in and I wasn't wrong. This track has some serious groove to it. Nice chunky , slow riffs, thick chunky bass, and a vocalist that really understood his job. Melodic and heavy vocally. Not so much on the harsh side but really matched the tone of the guitar with his voice with a bit of rasp back

Shadowvale - Midas This opening riff is straight to the point with a crunchy , HEAVY, doom filled riff and just the right amount of dissonance. Things start to get really sludgy when the vocals kick in. You can hear a bit of a hardcore element in this song as well but I think the sludgy doom stoner(ish) riffs shine here. The vocalist really kicks ass here combining clean and harsh vocals super smoothly. It doesn't sound forced. I think the band did a great call on what they w

The Sheep Destroyer Crew - Fury This band has a very interesting , humorous name and a bad ass logo so i had to check it out. I was not disappointed. The main riff to this song is fantastic and continues to merge into more and more impressive texture and mood changes. Vocalist did a good job of expressing emotion , matching the relatable lyrics. The lyric video is well made and compliments the destructive vibes this track offers. this just has a classic heavy metal feel to it
