Haast Hunter - Plastique
We have something really special here hailing from New Zealand. This main riff is super thick, full, and bouncy. This track in general carries alot of emotional weight to it. There is a really awesome blend of different vocal styles. I also think the effect used on the male vocals sound really great, it really adds to the heaviness of the voice. The video is very well made and beautifully shot. It matches the tune very well. The entire production of this track is super solid. From a songwriting perspective i think this a masterclass , a band to keep your eye on most definitely.
Beer Breath - Requiem
The guitar tone right from the beginning had me hopeful, this song does not disappoint. It is unapologetically relentless and that is consistent through the track. There is some cool synth type sounds in this track that really give the song a kind of gothic, Halloween vibe that was a fun addition that worked well. The album artwork is kickass and really fits the song. This is a great add for any thrash/death playlists.
Toxi Faktory - The Alarm
the French bands have really been onto something lately. This French band really delivered something different, unique, catchy. there is something primordial sounding about this track. It has kind of a tribal rhythm layered with frantic strings and simple but dynamic guitar. the vocals are very primal sounding. Letting out the inner beast. The song is not overly produced. It retains a reel raw feeling throughout its entirety.
Hedocide - Amygdala
one man black metal project from Germany. I was already excited one I had heard that description. Very cool artwork, one those screams kick in this really has every element you hope to hear in a good black metal song and that is a very good black metal song. The drumming is really solid , the guitar is eerie and persistent. Nice acoustic tones layered in here in classic black metal fashion. The lyrics are really intriguing. Vocally this track is very brutal for most of its entirety. except for a section we get that has a very surreal, atmospheric feel to it where some softer vocals can be heard and it actually worked well. It was a nice break from the blood curdling screams. This is a good tune.
Brankar - Live session 'in the Rudy's Garden"
another French band really showcasing true artistic expression and uniqueness. The video starts off very calm with nature sounds. But this calmness does not last very long. The absolutely heavy , thick , fuzzy riffs take over this track immensely. There is a real garage rock vibe to this song that is powerful, full of energy. It is just a really great jam to listen to and watch. There is some elements of prog rock in here too. Its a track that is absolutely jam packed with heavy grooves. Its super entertaining all around.
