Revenge of Insanity - Darkness Creeps All Over

This track jumps right into insanely heavy crushing riffs and a ton of dissonant chords and it sounds absolutely brutal. There is an unexpected switch up here with some atmospheric sound effects that sound very space like and the vocalist comes in with an approach I was not thinking would be the case. He comes in with a spoken word , story telling style and then hits you hard with blood curdling scream to jump you back into the double bass madness and maddening riffs. around 1:30 we get the real heavy experience. Turning into a super guttural death metal jam. around 2:07 the vocalist goes absolutely mental and manic with contrasting vocal approaches that sound like a madman. 2:21 we get to hear the bass shine a bit more with a super shrieking , chaotic guitar riff. Towards the end of the song it slows down a bit and the vocalist really shines by just letting out some more very blood curdling screams. I love the album artwork here , I could tell from the artwork this was going to be heavy and the band did not disappoint whatsoever.

Bloodhum - Huckup

I immediately enjoy that the bass is upfront in this song and bass tone is fantastic. The first taste of riffs we get are super thick and fuzzy, really nice. The bass and vocal style here is a bit reminiscent of Tool and progressive metal. The vocal and guitar melody tend to copy each other and synchronize , harmonize together at certain points and its highly enjoyable. The riffs are just super crunchy and enjoyable , we get a taste of some screaming and emotional vocals before it slows way down into a very groovy jam section. The bass is shining a lot here which is always a plus. The band made some really smart choices here in choices of melody and tempo. This track is somewhere between Prog and Stoner and is quite enjoyable. towards the end we get some super nice guitar squeaks that I really liked. Interesting band name and track name, great song.

prom - Joy Is...

UK based group coming through with some THICK riffs , crunchy bass and our introduction to vocals sounds very much in the hardcore realm. BUT we get slammed with some really thick production and really really nice melody and harmony. There is some elements of emo , alternative and hardcore sprinkled throughout this song that make for a great listen. Its a really nice enjoyable, emotional track that will take you right back to 2010 in the best way possible. Its a bit of a short track coming in under 2:30 but the band managed to really pack a punch in that time frame. This track has immense replay value and makes you want to hear a full release to see where this songs fits in and how the rest of the EP/album would flow together. Really nice little track here.

Chain Home - The Butcher

Well this one kicks you square in the ass right off the bat. It just immediately shreds and you know before the drums even drop in this is going to be a heavy ride. These riffs are super bouncy , definitely some thrash elements here but we also got just some straight up kick assery here that is hard to really put under a specific sub genre. its a fast and thunderous track with a killer breakdown in the third portion where we get a chance to do some slow headbanging. The bass also had some really nice areas where it got to accent the progression of the song. Honestly this one I cant say a whole lot besides it being highly enjoyable and well written.

Folklore - Clockwork Kings

This track is absolutely brutal vocally , it just assaults your eardrums with blistering deep , horrifying vocals. It has very bare instrumentation in black metal fashion but enough instrumentation initially going on to drive a beat forward to lay down these absolutely disgusting vocals. But at 1:26 we get a really funky lick with some nice synth sounds and a chance for the guitar to stand out and shine. These drums in the back are really the backbone of this song as they are simple but dynamic and very hard hitting. We slow down a lot for a minute with some acoustic sounds and just absolutely cannon boom sounding drums. Sounds a bit primitive here in a enjoyable way. During this section I got to dissect the artwork and its very fitting for this track and just adds another layer of badass to this song. This song has a lot of surprising layers and shows a great deal of solid song writing. You get some really twangy , rock and roll style riffs midway through the song and the drumming begins to sound a bit industrial. There is a lot for the brain to digest in here. Serious vocal style changes around the five minute mark into a more melodic singing style but as I expected the song ends chaotically and heavy as it started which I wouldn't want it any other way.
