Nonvector - Ashen Time
this track starts of with a droning sound of a synthesizer like we are floating in space and something big is going to happen. We are immediately then thrown into a punch in the face with this progressive style of metal with very nicely discernable bass. Thick , powerful riffs and the vocalist comes into this with a nice harmony and storytelling quality to the voice.
There is some interesting and noticeable changes in vocal approach and voice registers, some very fun tempo changes happening instrumentally. Both of which keep the song interesting and fresh! on a side not I find the artwork a little disturbing with this woman's buggy eyes just staring at me! around 3:54 is my favorite part this riff is just kickass.
Upon The Cathedral - The Unknown
Right off the bat we are met with something that sounds like ghosts are screaming in your eyes. But then we get the vocalist who is really screaming in your eyes and I enjoy it! Continuing on the spooky ghost theme , there is a synth noise in the background of the instrumental that sounds quite frantic and spooky. I think this was well utilized. The chorus takes a completely unexpected turn with a faster tempo and really soft , heartfelt lyrics. The entire feel of the song changes here but in a quite pleasant manner. after the second chorus we are met with a short but awesome break down just containing an expletive we all like to hear in breakdowns, pretty sweet. This is a really fun track and I would recommend it to those who are fans of the metalcore style.
She Preaches Mayhem - Trash Master
A really nice squealing , shrieking feedback noise starts the track which jumps into a nice muddy riff. Cant go wrong there. The feeling of this song throughout is quite muddy and murky and super enjoyable. The bass really shines in this song and adds this really pulsing feeling to the song. This song is fucking badass honestly. This vocalist doing the harsh vocals is making me want to smash drywall. The riff that comes in around 40 seconds and appears throughout the song is just fantastic. This band is onto something.
Sri Lanka - Eventide
this track is absolute trip and journey of a listen from start to finish. I guarantee you that you will feel the same as me and definitely say you weren't expecting this to turn out the way you initially imagined. I cant even quite tell you where this fits in terms of genre but who cares its a cool song. this song is so hugely drum and bass driven in a funky , new wavy manner. The vocalist has that punk and new wavy vocal approach too. There some synths and possibly 808 samples in here that really add awesome textures. This song makes you feel like you are floating on your back in the middle of the ocean just waiting to see where life will drift you next.
Vitrifier - Gorilla with an Anvil
Well people , we have been through quite an insane mixture of songs in todays review and I thought this was a good way to end the article. Its quite literally a short and not so sweet track. It is literally about a gorilla smashing people with an anvil. Quite a terrifying thought to picture a gorilla running at you with a fucking anvil. Although a short track , its a banger. Thick chunky guitar and a guy screaming at you about this murderous gorilla. Whats not to like? This is some heavy shit. Really makes you want to hear more from the artist(s).
