Tocsine - Save Me

Starting off the reviews with a French composer who blends elements of metal, garage rock, and dark atmospheres. This track definitely lets those elements shine. Its already un-nerving from the start. These vocals sound tormented. Instrumentally we get some chunky bass and riffs. Just really straight forward heavy noise on this track. We get snippets of our composer playing each instrument which is neat. The music video is kind of strange but in a way that sucks you in. We get a totally melodic more clean section before the next vocalist comes in. The chorus really sounds like a totally different genre entirely from where we started off but it blends beautifully. Good choices with writing here.

Love As Arson - Anima

Eerie but beautiful piano to start this one. The vocals are beautiful in a way that is slightly haunting. This track feels heavy even before the screams and thick instrumentation kicks in. We get thrown into a total thrash style mayhem which you would not really expect from the intro. Another example of creative writing decisions that we love to see. The track is very cleanly produced and mixed while maintaining the heavy , raw edge. There is some metalcore elements in here too with these change ups. Midway through the song it shifts back into this style we saw at the intro. It somehow works really well with the really heavily emotional feelings this track brings.

Chain Home - Frost

I have come to be pretty familiar with this band and I am usually pleasantly surprised when I hear another release and this was the case again. These riffs are just super chuggy and relentless. Starts off in the realm of Meshuggah - Bleed with this riff and drums just being halted towards you. We get into a more groove metal shift afterward , getting a little more bouncy with the rhythm. Vocally its powerful and manages to drive the track forward by matching the thickness and heaviness of the instrumental. Brilliantly timed clean vocals that match really well. The layering with harsher and clean vocals sounds great and was a really good creative decision. Perfect for any heavy metal playlist as it fits really anywhere you want to place it.

Insipidus - Suffer

If you love the classic death metal bands , I think you will love this. This band is an underground gem. The technical playing styles on here are fantastic. The bass sounds great and is mixed well. Its bouncy , dark and interesting. The vocals have a bit of black metal quality to them that fit really well with this gritty vibe of the instrumental. Album cover is great and really portrays the soundscape you hear. Great for death metal playlists! Lyrically i think you will find as entertaining as i did. Check out the album! it flows really well.

Alex Sandra - SYSTEM GLITCH

Ending the review here a little different. This track is full of super low tuned djenty thick riffs. Vocally it follows a more metalcore cadence and style. There is a ton of dissonance used in the background this track that i think really ties it all together. The clean vocals still manage to carry an uneasy quality to them which fits. There is a really enjoyable blend of nu metal , djent and metalcore sounds all mixed in here. We get a super nasty breakdown in the third part of the track that comes a little unexpecting it sounds absolutely disgusting. It kind of offended me , in a good way.
