Neverskin - Piece Of Mind
Nice little melodic echoing riff to start the track quickly followed by a thick heavy riff that drives the track forward. The track takes a slower approach after this initial riff, the guitars get super fuzzy and low. Catchy soft clean vocals make this song really enjoyable. The lyrics are relatable and well delivered. Simple but enjoyable visuals with this lyric video. The track is very well produced, I think this had radio potential! its more in the hard rock realm and is very palatable.
NUBIWXRLD - SOMEWHERE FAR BELOW
This song starts of sounding so chaotic I love it. The riff sounds insane , some deep bouncy bass slams through the mix. Very nu metal sounding track in the best ways. Vocally it reminds me a bit of Machine Head. The effects used on the bass and vocals sound really haunting and badass. The riffs just scream early 2000s alternative/ nu metal. Something that definitely would have been in a video game soundtrack and downloaded on limewire.
Rocco - Release The Pressure
Right off the bat we get with super heavy Linkin Park vibes with a female vocalist that comes screaming in and sound great. We have a male rapper delivering lyrics about society. Another one definitely in the Nu Metal realm. Somewhere along Evanessence but with heavier, djenty guitars. Its a very bouncy track with some electronic elements dashed in. The rapper changes cadences very well. We get a super heavy Djenty breakdown that sounds pretty nasty in a good way. The music video is really well made with some great visuals!
Ok Goodnight - Spiral
This song really touches on something special and unique. You don't come across music like this very often where you can tell great minds were behind this. Art in its purest form. This song sucks you in immediately to see where this is going to lead. The instrumentation is so thick with heavy tones and there is some serious elements of nostalgia in here that you cant quite tell why its nostalgic but it puts a smile on your voice. The voice is so angelic yet agonizing. The visuals are utterly fantastic. This track has some serious potential to be massive. This band is brilliant. True virtuosos at work.
Isvidd - Their Bones In The Mist
Ending off todays reviews is some straight forward, kick ass black metal. But it is black metal that uses melody really well. The verses are delivered in a Nordic folk storytelling manner which is really nice. The lyrics are ambiguous but paint a picture of landscapes stricken landscapes. For black metal is actually very well mixed and produced. Great for your heavy playlists!
