Mars God - Daywalker

This track starts with an interesting little sample and some distorted dissonance. I had a good feeling it was going to be heavy before the instruments even dropped in and I wasn't wrong. This track has some serious groove to it. Nice chunky , slow riffs, thick chunky bass, and a vocalist that really understood his job. Melodic and heavy vocally. Not so much on the harsh side but really matched the tone of the guitar with his voice with a bit of rasp backing the melody. The band did a really good job controlling the build up to the chorus , you can anticipate when the heavy is about to drop on you. Production quality is great here and you can really feel the emotion being portrayed here. I would put this somewhere in between prog and stoner and it hits hard. You get a little taste of super harsh vocals right at the end with a beautiful little acoustic melody. Nice way to end the track. I think this track has immense replay value.

DAD - Snake Handshake

This is a super interesting track. It doesn't waste anytime with an intro, you just immediately get smacked with a wall of sound that encompasses the ears. When the bass and drums really kick in around 23 seconds you are in for the ride this band if offering and it is great. It manages to be super groovy while also being incredibly sludgy. there is some post rock elements here and maybe a bit of hardcore. This song is just really a monstrous blend of heavy noises. It sounds a bit manic vocally and instrumentally but in a really enjoyable way. Pretty impressive to pack in so many sounds and textures in under three minutes. I would recommend this track for anyone who likes the Melvins or Sludgy music.

Beyond The Circles - Mitternacht Menagerie

We start out with a simple but dynamic string melody to start this song which quickly turns into an absolute jam that i would put in the metalcore realm. The vocalist is firing off vocals that is somewhat reminiscent of Nu Metal vocal styles. Quick vocals that almost sound like rapping with some rasp. The chorus comes together very nicely with a crushing melody. There is some Djenty guitar parts in here a very metalcore style short and sweet guitar solo that will give you a grin. The artwork showcases what seems to be a bard and this song does kind of give you dungeons and dragons metal vibes. The band is from Germany and the track features German lyrics. But overall this is a fun track with a very epic storytelling quality to it. Towards the end of the song we get a more fleshed out guitar solo that pulls the whole experience together.

Manuel - Fuerza

I have heard this track once before and hearing it again reminds me why it blew my mind the first time. every member of this band are virtuosos. You have an immense blend of genres here its almost overwhelming but it is beautiful and soothing on the ears. This track is the epitome of progressive. The skill that went into this song writing is absolutely insane. The tempo changes will leave you happily scratching your head. The only thing i can really compare this to is An Endless Sporadic. The music is a simple band playthrough style but with great quality production and shows you the impressive nature of each person playing in this track. If you like heavy prog with insane tempo and genre switch ups this track is for you!

The Funeral Procession - Forsaken

I mean right off the bat I love this intro. It feels heartfelt and soulful with some twang to it. The piano/keys was a really nice touch in the background that wasn't too overpowering. Some beautiful acoustic melody carrying throughout the track. The vocals come in and continue the soulful and heartfelt feelings I mentioned earlier. We get some great harsh guttural vocals and some guitar progressions that definitely sound a bit in the black metal realm. The lyrics that appear during this harder section of the song also fit a bit into the black metal area. We also get a nice , kind of creepy dark lyric video that was a good choice for the song. The vocalist (assuming there is one) does a great job switching between clean and harsh vocals. utilizing more of the soft vocals to really make the harsher ones feel more impactful to reflect the lyrical meaning when they do kick in. pretty cool track.
