DEFICIENCY - The Nest
No wasted time here. The band wants you to know they mean business. We get thrown face first into an absolute thrash onslaught with some beautiful very thrash like progressions. Everyone in the band here is doing a good job to bring a really melodic, heavy, thrash track to life. there is some progressive elements sprinkled in here as well. around 2:18 we get a pretty groovy little section here with some colorful switch ups. 2:51 we get immersed into a section with bells and operatic chanting that sounds like a battle is about to take place followed with a beautiful and enchanting guitar solo. We get an unexpected acoustic duet with some really flavorful and groovy bass. I think this section here really makes the track stand out from your classic thrash. Very talented musicians here. The track ends by throwing the heaviness back into your face and a fading acoustic which i think was the perfect way to end this song. also, the music video was incredibly well made and adds another elements of art to this song.

Inherent Doom - Eastern Mills
I already had hopes just from the band name, I mean what a badass name. This opening riff is super nasty and manic. tons of double bass. We get a nice melodic breakthrough to cut through the deep heaviness and a more black metal style guitar progression comes into play with some operatic choir vocals in the background. Very much black metal style vocals here which I was expecting and it was delivered quite well. This is a very gloomy , dark, melancholic track that gives you images of a battlefield in your mind. Good mixture of high pitched shrieks and deep guttural vocals and relentless droning guitars. There is some nice tempo changes in here as well which keep the song interesting. The song ends nearly as brutal or more brutal than the way it starts which I definitely enjoyed.

Grave Risk - Pain In Truth
Wow , a very different start here. Sampling some rag time , 50s tune which ends distorted and you know the heaviness is about to start. You can just feel it. This riff is monstrous and energetic. This opening riff and vocal style have some punk influence. We get a great gnarly breakdown early in the song. The cymbals are going absolutely bananas. There is a bit of a thrash feel here as well. Cant go wrong with some THICK bass and another nice breakdown that hits you with some absolutely shrieking, squealing guitar noises that honestly fit the song super well. The track tops off just barely after two minutes and i think for such a short track it really packs a punch. Quite a fun song.

Martyr the Masses - God Help Us All
Damn. This opening riff is absolutely kick ass. When that double bass kicks in with the vocals you know this song is going to rattle your brain. I am somewhat reminded of Ashes Of The Wake here. I think this track progresses beautifully. We get a nice solo about midway through right before you know the song is about to peak with a low , slow , heavy breakdown and the vocals go up a huge notch here getting just nasty. Right back into this sick riff that really was the backbone of the song in my opinion. Its got some melody to it but not overly melodic. Honestly no complaints here , the song was super well written and would make a great addition to any heavy playlist.

ZIGGURATH - Astral Exorcism
Well. With a band and album name like that. You would expect this is going to kick ass. I mean the album art look like we are going to be teleported to some ancient time with war and plagues. The intro titled "The End" has a very dark , impending doom ambience. We can hear some fire crackling and some otherworldly noises panning around. around 50 seconds we get our first taste of guitar and it sounds tasty. 1:50 in this is going places I did not expect. This is some groovy rock and roll , but heavy and progressive. There is some really groovy licks and drumming here with a psychedelic rock flare but we get met with a really heavy , stoner doomy essence blending with the groovy rock riffs. This is right up my alley and if you enjoy death n roll style music I think you can highly enjoy this. Plus, the song titles are in some kind of ancient tongue so of course its cool.
