Lost Soul - Greatness Drained

This is one of those tracks you can tell from the opening riff its going to hit like a freight train. There is an interesting blend happening here. The main riff has a heavy , southern(ish) doom vibe and insanely harsh guttural vocals. The first verse has a reminiscence to CKY or early 2000s alternative metal. The production value here is slightly harsh but in a way that actually works towards the songs favor not sounding overly refined and retaining some edge. My favorite section of this song is around the two minute mark you get a great breakdown that just really ties this song together. I highly recommend this track to those who enjoy things along the lines of Killswitch Engage.

Sentimental Mercenaries - Darkest Hour

This one was captivating from the start because I couldn't really tell where this track was heading. There is a really gloomy , tension building intro that could lead anywhere. Right after you get this thunderous black metal style riff but a bit softened compared to traditional black metal. The track takes another turn shortly after when the vocals come into play. It slows down quite a bit into a more sad story telling element with some 80s metal remnants. It picks back up again with some fry in the vocals followed by a very enticing guitar solo that really puts the cherry on top of the song.

Light Drawn In - All So Clearly

I was very curious to see what this band sounded like from the very minimalistic logo. I was pleasantly surprised. The intro a super nostalgic mid 2000s metalcore style riff. The bass here is super chunky and wobbly in a great way. The vocalist takes an approach different than you would expect throughout most of the song with a lot of melody and harmony. some harsh vocals come in later in the track that I think worked well for the instrumental by not overpowering the melodic guitar with a lot of screaming. This is pretty neat song that takes you somewhere you weren't initially keen to.

Cynik Scald - Heart and Cross

Just an absolutely great , brutal , blood pumping riff to start off this song with a great use and sense of melodic guitar in the background. The vocalist uses a lot of interesting accents on his words, a pleasing switch between melodic and harsh vocals which really matches the guitar tones creating a pleasant listening experience. The lyrics give you a sense of being immersed in medieval times which was a fun feeling to have. The artwork here is simple yet dynamic , while i can say nothing about this track is simple but it is dynamic.

Carved - Last Exhale

This track is just badass from start to finish and an absolute onslaught of interesting visuals and noises. The interesting contrast between the male and female vocals is quite pleasant. Instrumentally this track is insanely heavy. The band created a lot of great textures here. There is a well balanced use of synths / horns / strings here which sometimes I tend to stray from but I think this band has a lot of experience writing music and managed to make it feel necessary for this track.
